Neopia's been around for quite some time, and it has quite the storied past. Relive some of the olden days by perusing through our history exhibits below.
By Year
Did you know that on March 23, 2004, Sponge was announced as a Lab Ray only colour? Or how about that the first photographed Caption Contest was released on July 7, 2010?
All that and more is documented in the year-by-year timelines below.
- Mar 17, 2018 Thankfully, the Charity Corner is here to purge useless items! (Useful ones too, but that's less important.). Neopets® began way back in 1997 in a dingy little computer room. The site was.
- Delina's Quests - This item is used during or awarded as a prize from Delina's Quests.; Neocash Item - This item was either sold in the NC Mall, obtained from an NC event, or came from another NC item.; Special - This is the official type for this item on Neopets.
More History
There's more to Neopian history than just dates. Check out the sections below to read up on old characters, old games, and some scrapped Neopet colours.
Flash Preservation
As Flash comes to the end of its lifetime in 2020, we are doing what we can to preserve Neopian content that has been created in Flash. Below, you will find various collections of old Flash-based content that have been converted into modern formats for your viewing enjoyment.

Update, May 14th: As of Tuesday, May 14th, a new 'Quick Discard' option is available for you to quickly send items to Atsumi! See our Quick Discard section for more info. The per-donation limit has also been raised from 10 items to 15.
2019
This year, Granny Hopbobbin has handed over duties to Atsumi for Charity Corner, the founder of a new movement called Living with Less.
The event runs from May 6th at 10:00 pm NST, through May 27th at 11:59 PM NST. Previously, the event was only meant to run from May 6-20th, but was then extended for an additional week at the last minute.
Neopoint Drive
This year's system is similar to 2018's, in that you can donate the majority of item types and rarities:
- You may donate any item, from r1 through r200. (See one exception below.)
- You may donate an item from any item type category—it's not just books, clothing, etc.
- You may donate anywhere from 1 to 15 items at a time. You do not need to fill all 15 donation slots at once. (It was only 1-10 items at a time prior to May 14th.)
- You may donate any combination of rarity items. There are no rarity rules like in prior years.
Donation Restrictions
There are, however, a few restrictions this year:
- You may not donate r180 items.
- You may not donate Neocash (r500) items via the Neopoint Drive. (See our Neocash Drive section below.)
- For the duration of the event, the Ever-Stocked General Store and Neohome Superstore have been closed. You may not use them to purchase cheap items. (Items that stocked in the stores that you already have can be donated.)
Rewards
Like last year, Charity Corner is keeping the format of donations not directly granting new items. Instead, each donation will award you with points that you will be able to redeem later on in a 'prize shop' set up. For full details, see our Perks Shop guide.
The points you receive depend on the individual items' rarities. Here's a breakdown:
- r1-r79: 1 point
- r80-89: 2 points
- r90-97: 6 points
- r98-r100: 8 points
- r101: 1 point
- r102-r179: 4 points
- r200: 15 points
If you donate three r101 items (1 point each) and two r90 items (6 points each), you will receive a total of 15 points for that combination of items (1 + 1 + 1 + 6 + 6 = 15 points). The points you accumulate will be redeemable in a final prize shop once the event ends.
Item Lists
We've prepared some lists in our Item Database that you may wish to make use of.
- Cheapest r200 items (you probably won't want to bother with this one..)
Heads up! We're working around the clock to update the prices in our Item Database, but prices tend to shift quickly during Charity Corner, so they may be slightly stale. The lists above will still act as a good reference regardless!
Price Checker Tools
We also recommend checking out our Price Checker Tools in the Item Database. There are tools available for your Closet, Gallery, SDB, Shop, and Neohome Storage Shed. Each tool allows you to input a page's source code from, say, your Safety Deposit Box, and get a list of all the items and the current Jellyneo price, along with the Charity Corner point value. Perfect for figuring out what to pull out into your inventory to donate!
Donation Tips and Strategies
Many of our favourite strategies - found on the Donation Strategy page - are still valid with the new process.
Donating
This year, the actual method of donation has changed from previous years. You now donate through your inventory. When you click on an item, there will be a new button under the usual drop down menu for Charity Corner. Clicking it once will select the item for donation, and clicking it again will cancel that selection.
You can select up to 15 items this way, and then you must return to the Charity Corner page to perform the actual donation by clicking on the lever on Atsumi's machine.
You will be asked to confirm your choice, and then you must watch an animation of the machine working. You can also remove individual items from your donation list on the page by clicking on the X next to them at the bottom of the page.
Neopets bargain stocks prices. And on the Tamagotchi’s extremely small screen, the little monster characters looked like nothing more than pixelated blobs on a gray background.Neopets, by contrast, were colorful, distinguishable from each other, and undeniably cute. Plus, Tamagotchi was an individual pursuit, while Neopets were inherently social. Just the fact that anyone could own four Neopets at once put one over on Tamagotchi, which locked owners into a single creature that could die at any moment. If you and a friend each had a Tamagotchi, your pets couldn’t hang out or play together.
Clicking the tray at the bottom of the machine will tell you how many points you earned for the donation.
Note: The text display of how many points you earned can be incorrect if you donate in bulk, however the correct amount of points is being added to your total.
Should you wish to check your total number of points over the course of the event, you can click the orange button on the top of the machine.
Quick Donating
New as of May 14th, TNT has introduced a new 'Quick Discard' page, which allows you to check off 1-15 items in your inventory and instantly donate them—vastly speeding up the donation process.
Clicking the 'Declutter' button will instantly donate the items, whereas 'Take These to Atsumi' will take you to the Charity Corner hub where you can click the lever and watch the donation animation (which is not necessary).
Neocash Drive
The Gift Shop opened on May 9th, through May 20th and is accepting donations of Neocash items. Donating will allow you to access a special gift shop with exclusive Neocash items.
To get started, you'll need to purchase a Clutter Box for the NC items you want to donate. They are available in the NC Mall.
Clutter Box 3 Pack 100 NC | Clutter Box 30 Pack 600 NC | Clutter Box 60 Pack 900 NC | Clutter Box 90 Pack 1,060 NC |
After you purchase your pack, you will have to activate it in your inventory. Then, you will have the listed number of NC donations to make. Choose any Neocash items you would like to donate, and place them in your inventory. Any Neocash item is eligible for donation.
As with the NP side of the event, you will have to manually select each NC item in your inventory for donation, up to a maximum of 10 at a time. Once you've selected your items, return to the Gift Shop and pull the lever on the machine to donate the items.
Neopets lookup layouts. Some users have suggested they crawl like a seal or a snake (usually as a joke). In Neopets lore, Peophin used to have back legs instead of fins, with the last known 4-legged peophin (named Rhian) existing around 100 billion years ago.Site description: 'Peophins are rare magical creatures. Peophin are most at home in the water but can survive on land; how exactly they move on said land is up for debate, with the most common depiction in canon site content being to float a few inches above the ground. 40 cmPeophin ( PEE-o-fin) are neopets. Its head resembles that of the, but instead of a horn, the Peophin has fins that stick out from near its ears. The Peophin is a graceful Neopet with two hooved legs and a long tail that takes the place of hind legs.
You will need to confirm donating the items, since they will be gone forever.
Once you have confirmed, you will be presented with this thank you message and a Badge of Freedom to spend in the gift shop:
NC donations this year do not count towards totals for final prizes.
